KRISTEN KENNEY FounderKristen Kenney, a broadcast journalist, contracted severe malaria in Africa in 2009 while filming a feature film titled “Tanzania a Friendship Journey.” She survived the life-threatening disease with the proper medication. After learning that the disease kills thousands of children a day, Kristen made it her mission to give others the same chance she had to survive malaria and started MALAIKA FOR LIFE. As the acting executive director, Kristen holds a key leadership role in the organization and oversees all operations for MALAIKA FOR LIFE. With a degree from the University of Miami in broadcast journalism, Kristen began her broadcast career at Public Broadcasting and currently is a reporter for FOXSports/Scout.com. Kristen continues to represent the MALAIKA brand and is committed to sharing her story to continually grow MALAIKA’s network of angels.

ALICE HIATT Founder/ President of Hope Through Opportunity MALAIKA FOR LIFE operates under California 501c3 Hope Through Opportunity, founded by Alice Hiatt in 2008 to bring hope and opportunity to the people of the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania.

ANNA WASCHER Director of Expansion and Product DevelopmentAnna Wascher joined MALAIKA FOR LIFE in February 2010 to help grow and develop a sustainable business project in Africa. A former consultant with Accenture in London, Anna traveled to Tanzania to help establish a partnership with Tamiha Organization to produce our beautiful bracelets. Anna currently manages this relationship and oversees the procurement of handcrafted products. Thanks to her efforts, 150 widows and women living with HIV/AIDS have a source of income.

NASTASSIA RODRIGUEZ Ambassador, Miami Nastassia Rodriguez joined MALAIKA FOR LIFE June 2010 as the Miami ambassador and team leader. A former middle school teacher, Nastassia was inspired to take the MALAIKA FOR LIFE message into schools in the Miami area to help encourage and motivate children to make a difference. Her fundraising efforts alone helped us raise funds to provide over 10-thousand malaria victims with lifesaving malaria relief.

ROSE MARTINCAK Ambassador, New York Rose Martincak joined MALAIKA FOR LIFE in Fall 2010 as the New York ambassador and team leader. Rose volunteers over ten years of retail and management experience and five years of media production, business development and sales experience, to help expand the MALAIKA brand.

TORICA Celebrity AmbassadorGrammy-nominated singer/songwriter, TORICA, learned of MALAIKA FOR LIFE while attending the BET Honors Black Opulence Gifting Suite on Jan. 14, 2012. As our new celebrity ambassador, TORICA will be using her musical platform and popularity to raise awareness for the MALAIKA FOR LIFE mission and create a theme song, which will be sold via iTunes with proceeds benefiting our cause.
